Let’s make this project a fun, stress-free experience.

DAY ONE - Grab and review your project checklist. In efforts to have clean slate, remove all items from your closet. Removing all items will provide clarity and a clear vision for space planning. Label three cardboard boxes; donation, keep and toss. an additional plastic storage bin can host keepsake items. For the best results, paint and/or make repairs if necessary. Opting for white paint to all walls and ceiling will provide a bright, uplifting vibe. SUSTAINABLE TIP: Consider low VOC paint for reduced environmental impact and improved air quality.

DAY TWO - Think purge! Now it’s time to edit your wardrobe (including shoes and accessories). Evaluate each item to determine which pile is best for the item. Garments that no longer fit or have worn material can be sorted first in the editing process. For help moving forward try the 90/90 Rule. The 90/90 Rule was created by Joshua Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus. It is a decluttering process that asks two questions: Have you used this item in the past 90 days? If not, will you use it in the next 90 days. SUSTAINABLE TIP: Give your unwanted clothes a second life. Donating or upcycling unwanted garments prevents overflow in our landfills. Did you know that H&M will recycle your unwanted clothes?

DAY THREE - Time to sort! Now that you are clear on what you are keeping, garments can be sorted into categories based on likeness and color.(ie: Dresses, suits, workout gear and so on…)

DAY FOUR - The set up! - Use day four to set up and style. Start with installing storage solutions, a dresser, baskets and bins into the closet. Keep in mind paying attention to details can make all the difference. Replace the lighting fixture and /or bulbs using energy efficient white light. Replace bulky or plastic hangers with slimline hangers. We have curated project must have links to help make your project less stress free.
