The theme for EARTH DAY 2023 is “INVEST IN OUR PLANT”.

Celebrate Earth Day 2023 by elevating your awareness of nature preservation, environmental pollution. Earth Day takes place in the height of Spring, the season for new beginnings. This is a great opportunity to make a difference and reduce your carbon footprint.There are so several ways to contribute to Mother Earth. The investment starts with you at home, work and school. Simple changes like turning off the running water when brushing your teeth or washing dishes contributes to our plight to conserve water.

The earth friendly mindset for your home can also start with long lasting LED light bulbs and energy efficient appliances. LED bulbs use up to 90% less energy. As a rule of thumb, our design team will consistently shop for energy efficient appliances and eco-friendly products for our clients. Projects requiring window replacements are replaced with E2 or E3 energy efficient windows. Energy efficient windows save up to 30% of heated or cooled air. Adding window treatments made of sustainable materials are a great addition to your design esthetic. You can generally conserve energy at home, work and school by turning off lights and electronics when not in use. Gather old, broken and unused phones, computers and tablets and drop them off at your local electronic recycling centers. College students often donate or sell furniture and room decor at the end of the school year so be sure to connect with the social media sites at your school.

Paper waste can be reduced in the workplace by becoming a paperless department or business. Try to avoid printing information that can be sent or retrieved online. Request or offer paperless billing as often as possible.

Candles create ambience and add wonderful fragrance to your living space. Candles can set the mood for a romantic dinner, meditation or a spa experience. While we enjoy candles in many different ways, lets be mindful of the following simple candle care tips:

1. Keep candles away from children and pets.

2. Store your candles in a cool place with minimal sunlight.

3. Trim your candles’s wick to 1/4” before each lighting.

4. Consider keeping your lit candles in view; never leave your candle unattended.

5. Avoid burning your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.

6. Use a snuffer to put out the flame.

7. When not in use, use a lid to prevent the collection of dust, dirt and foreign materials.

8. Place your candle on a level surface that is heat resistance and clutter free.

9. If you notice that your flame is continuosly flickering, extinguish, trim your wick then relight.

10. Caution! Avoid touching the exterior of your candle jar when lit.

11. Keep candles away from drafts and other flammable materials.

12. SUSTAINABLE TIP: Reuse your clean, empty candle jars for storage or continue to enjoy your decorative jar by placing in a tealight.
